21st May 2007Spurn Head, United Kingdom - Day 5 - 439.5 eng. hrs.
ROCK and ROLL!
First thanks for all the messages you've left.
WOW! What a day. 45 miles down the Humber. Tide flowing at 5 knots in places, unfortunately for us though with a wind going in the opposite direction (very steep sided , short waves). In places a meter high. Tiger was fantastic. Even side on she behaved very well, very solid. Conny did a fantastic job of cooking lunch while Tiger was flying up and down (Glad I cleaned the diesel tanks).
Went for a walk on the Spurn Head peninsula earlier (where we're stopping tonight)...it was absolutely covered in caterpillars...like some sort of Hitchcock film.
Apparently this is the only place in the UK that has a full time lifeboat crew due to it's remote location (have a look at the pictures!)
Now at lying at anchor in a bit of a swell and after today were feeling it a bit....so early night.....North Sea tomorrow
